Peace Brigades International Norge inviterer til seminar onsdag 21. og torsdag 22. september kl. 18-20 på Menneskerettighetshuset, Tordenskjoldsgate 6b. Onsdagen vil være viet til Colombia og torsdagen til Guatemala. Begge dagene vil det bli informert om PBIs arbeid og du kan også høre tidligere ledsagere fortelle om sine opplevelser.

Adriana Arboleda Betancour
Adriana Arboleda Betancour, Corporacion Juridica Libertad (CJL)Adriana Arboleda Betancour is a lawyer and a human right’s defender. She has a degree in law and political science from Antioquia University, in Medellin.
She has worked as a teacher, supporting the black and indigenous community in Chocó department and their claims for their economic and cultural rights, a task that she initially performed as a member of the Indigenous Ecclesiastic centre of the Quibdó Diocese (Centro de Pastoral Indígena de la Diócesis de Quibdó).
Adriana subsequently worked as the national coordinator for the Human Rights Commission of Ecclesiastic Communities and Christian Groups in Colombia. (Comision de Derechos Humanos de las comunidades Eclesiales de Base y Grupos Cristianos)
In 1998, she joined the non-governmental human rights organization “Corporacion Juridica Libertad” as a legal adviser and teacher. In the organization she is currently responsible for accompanying and supporting rural communities into various districts of Medellín city, as well as black and indigenous communities in the Chocó department with legal advice. In addition to this, the Corporación also carries out: training, legal assistance and advice aimed to strengthen the organizational processes of the communities.
Adriana is also responsible for the human rights’ training promoted by the CODEHSEL (Colectivo de Derechos Humanos Semillas de Libertad), in the school “Orlando Zapata”. CODEHSEL belongs to the “Corporacion Jurídica Libertad”.
